HOFF, Partners in Engineering was founded in 2023 by Lars Hofman and Marcel Kruithof and has since grown into an established engineering partner with a diverse team of experts, based in Sliedrecht. Our roots lie in maritime engineering and built on hands-on experience in both luxury yacht building and commercial vessel projects. In everything we do, the focus is on a practical and efficient way of working, with engineering that fits the yard’s processes and supports the way the project is actually built.

Our team

Our team consists of engineers with different backgrounds, disciplines and levels of experience, from junior to senior. This gives each project a practical mix of capacity, technical judgement and fresh engineering perspective. Working in direct contact with the client, the team keeps communication clear and decisions close to the project. By staying aligned with the yard’s processes, they deliver engineering that is coordinated, workable and suited to how vessels are actually built.

Lars Hofman has worked his way up within the yacht building industry, in which he has had several roles, from Junior to Lead Engineer, wherafter he also experienced the production environment as Area Manager, after which he decided to return as Engineering Coordinator and eventually Project Manager Engineering. With 9 years of professional experience he decided together with Marcel Kruithof to found the company HOFF. 

Lars has a strong set of communicative skills, can quickly create an overview, is very driven, firm and open. During his work he values partnership, transparency, reliability and flexibility. Within HOFF he is responsible for sales, procurement and recruitment. 

Marcel Kruithof has more than 12,5 years experience in the yacht building industry when he launches HOFF together with Lars Hofman. He has been actively involved in the industry with roles such as Senior Engineer, Engineering Coordinator and Project Manager Engineering. With this experience he not only became a better engineer, but he also developed communicative skills during this process, in which he also is a good sparring partner for both collegues, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. 

Marcel is a critical, down-to-earth and calm person and has strong analytical skills. Within HOFF he is responsible for the operations, in which he coordinates the personnel, delegates the activities and manages the projects.

By fostering open communication and collaboration with all stakeholders, we ensure that everyone is informed and working towards the same end goal. With years of experience in handling complex projects, we have developed a proven approach that sets us apart in the industry.
